Håfaloha, all! It’s another month, and with that comes another Employee of the Month, where all of our staff vote and choose one outstanding person to celebrate. So for April, our Employee of the Month is Mizziel (Miz)!

Unlike most of our workers, Miz is not a person who works at our shop, who customers might expect to meet when they walk in for a shave ice. Miz is a graphic designer, working a lot especially on things like designs for apparel. So Miz doesn’t work in the shop — she works in our top-secret office location high in the mountains.

It wasn’t long ago — less than a year — that Miz came on board. But when she did, she hit the ground running. Miz is extremely hardworking. When it comes to projects, she’s task-oriented, getting one thing done in a timely manner and then focusing on the next thing. She’s also punctual (a very important quality in a business full of ice getting ready to melt)!

As we said, Miz is a graphic designer, working from our top-secret office 2 miles deep in the Mariana Trench. She works on many of the designs you see on some of our latest apparel. We love working with artists, and Miz really is an artist, a true creative. And her creative skills have gone even beyond our vision. She really is that good. She’s creative, but she also has the technical skills she needs to get those ideas out of her head, onto the computer, into the files we send out to the printers, that finally make their way onto your shirt.

But she does so much more than graphic design. Since Miz joined us, she has gone outside of her responsibilities and learned so many other things that she didn’t even need to learn, just to be able to help us out. For example, she learned how to make shave ice, she’s assisted in inventory and in helping Tara & Tasi with operations, sometimes dropping things off and picking things up. She does all these things and more, just to help. She always goes above and beyond what’s expected of her.

Miz is also a lot of fun to be around. When she was brought on board, it didn’t take her long to blend well with the entire team, and she has a great relationship with everyone here. She knows how to joke with everyone and get along. She’s a true team player. We just LOVE having her in our office, an area we’re leasing out of the International Space Station.

To reward her for such an amazing job, we’ve given Miz a $75 Longhorn gift card so she can enjoy her big Texas-size dinners 🥩🥔 (ugh, maybe we need to go there with her soon), a $50 gift card to Ross 🛍, and a $25 Gas Card so she can fill ‘er up with black gold. ⛽️

Miz, you haven’t been with us for that long, but we really love you so much around here! ❤️ Keep up the amazing work!
