Once a month, our amazing Håfaloha staff family members each vote to choose a brand new Employee of the Month from amongst themselves. This month, they’ve once again chosen a very deserving person: Darian!

Recently, we found ourselves needing a couple additional shift leaders on top of the ones we already have, and we needed them fast. Without skipping a beat, Darian was one of two who stepped up — even as he is busy finishing up his senior year at Okkodo High School. And the fact that despite being so busy, he stepped up so willingly — that’s the number one reason our staff told us why they voted for him this month. In fact, one of Darian’s peers described him as “brave” for taking on such responsibilities as he is still in school studying so hard.

Thankfully for everyone, Darian has done really well at adjusting to shift leader! He’s such a hard worker, enthusiastic to learn new things and train for new duties. He takes initiative around the store, doing things that need to be done without having to be asked. He’s always willing to assist wherever and whenever he can. Darian is always dependable and reliable; we all know we can count on him not only to be there and to get the job done, but to get the job done well.

Darian is also great with customers. He’s always so helpful, recommending things to them from our menu that they’ll enjoy. So not only does he offer helpful suggestions to customers, but he does it with kindness and a genuine smile. Lots of people immediately feel happy when they walk into the shop and are welcomed with a warm greeting from Darian.

As we said above, we think Darian is so deserving of this honor. We’re glad his peers also feel the same way.

For a job well done, we give our Employees of the Month not just a title, but practical gifts — little tokens of our immense appreciation — that we hope are useful to them. For Darian, we chose to give him a $25 Gas Card 🚘⛽️, a $50 gift card to McDonalds 🍔🍟, and a $75 card toward whatever he wants to treat himself to from Ross 👕👖!

Darian, thank you! We are so grateful for all you’ve done for us — not just lately, but for the entire time you’ve been with us. We love having you on the team not just this month, but all the time!
